SART

The Santa Ana Response Team was founded to assist the City of Santa Ana with auxiliary communications in the event of a disaster or to assist with public service event.

SART is affiliated with both RACES and ARES to enhance our ability to operate in the best interests of the citizens of the City of Santa Ana and others in Orange County.

RACES

RACES is the Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service that was established by the Federal Government to assist governmental Civil Defense agencies.

ARES

ARES is the Amateur Radio Civil Emergency Service founded by the
Amateur Radio Relay League to assist non-governmental groups with emergency communications.


February CERT Classes Planned

CERT classes scheduled to begin in February are now being planned. If you were unable to sign up for our last CERT training classes, take advantage of the opportunity now.

Field Day 2011 Results

The Results are in! The SART Filed Day was a great success, and enjoyed by all. Here are the results:

  • 160 meters - 12 contacts
  • 80 meters - 38 digital,
  • 75 meters - 107 on voice
  • 40 meters - 118 digital/cw, and 210 voice
  • 20 meters - 91 digital , and 102 on voice
  • 15 meters - 127 digital / cw , and 82 on voice
  • 10 meters - 98 voice from Wilson Kids
  • 6 meters - 49 voice , some to East Coast
  • 2 meters - 78 voice
  • 222 MHz - 12 voice on an HT
  • 440 MHz - 30 voice
  • 1270 MHz - 4 voice
  • 10 GHz - 1
  • About 5,000 points total.

Emergency Drills:
In preparation for the next major event, SART members hold periodic emergency response drills. We are thus ensured that we are ready to meet the needs of the cities and communities of Southern California.
